Pillow Talk: Anthropologie

Now that the long holiday weekend is close to settling in, I thought it would be best to address something necessary for all long weekends: comfort.

I am always a fan of adding a splash of color or pattern in the form of a throw pillow. With varied, sizes, textures and shapes, a pillow is a great way to add your own personal style to your space. I like to use a varied approach when staging pillows on a couch, and combine simpler patterns or colors with one statement pillow. For example, you can take two of the same colored Diamond Dots Pillows below and use one of the Estuarine Bird Pillows to create a warm feeling and intrigue.

I selected some of my favorite pieces of Anthropologie's current home offerings, and listed them below. The store's current selection offers a variety of warm and neutral tones that are perfect for the end of spring and summer months. The price points are a little high for the average consumer and for some one who likes to change their look frequently, but if you are looking to splurge on great quality and timeless styles then Anthropologie can't be beat.

Use your extra time this weekend switching up your look and celebrating the USA!

Nate Berkus for Target Does It Again

Resident heartthrob and designer, Nake Berkus, recently came out with a new line for his Target collection, and the muted tones and clean lines are perfect for the transition from spring to summer.

The collection features highlights of gold, neutral tans and whites, and pops of color in the form of purple. The items are great for mixing in with your already designed rooms to add a sense of sophistication (see the gold vase below), or for starting from scratch and creating a clean and comfortable space.

Berkus' style is very minimalistic and and masculine, and this line doesn't differentiate from those senses. Personally, his simple yet timeless pieces match my own personal style very much, so I am a big fan of this collection. With reasonable price points and the ability to shop online and at your local Target, this collection is another win for Nate.

Check out some of my favorite pieces from the line below and shop his collection HERE.
